Birmingham Compact
The Birmingham Compact is a framework for relations between Birmingham Strategic Partnership members and the Voluntary and Community Sector in Birmingham.
Written by the Voluntary and Community Sector Commission, the Compact sets out the shared principles of the relationship and the actions it commits to move forward on.
The Compact is a voluntary agreement. It does not have any legal or contractual status. However, Compact signatories have a moral committment to abide by its recommendations and drive its principles further forward.
The members of the Birmingham Strategic Partnership signed up to the Compact in July 2005. In January 2006, Tippa Naphtali was appointed Compact Champion to make sure the Compact achieves its full potential. January also saw the launch of the offical Compact publication which is available on request.
